My Barcelona food tour Is designed to be an honest experience. It begins with a visit to Santa Caterina market. It’s been around since 1845, providing the barrio’s working class with fresh ingredients. In 2005, the same year that I opened my restaurant, a refurbished Santa Caterina market opened to the public. With an undulating colourful mosaic roof representing the fruit and vegetables sold within.
Each tour has a maximum number of eight people at 130€ per person and is available in both English or Spanish. Below is a quick breakdown of how a tour pans out over the course of five hours, take a look…
We meet outside the front
of the market at 9:30am.
Once gathered, we go inside
for a typical Catalan breakfast.
We wander around the market buying
food for lunch and learning about ingredients
Time for an olive oil tasting,
trying oils from all over Spain.
I set up food to pick at and drinks, then get lunch started as we chat.
Five hours later the foodie tour
and tasting comes to a close.
